The Wise, the Fool and the Simple Empty
PostSubject: The Wise, the Fool and the Simple   The Wise, the Fool and the Simple Icon_minitimeSun Nov 23, 2014 3:17 pm

An interesting thing I took from my last class is the three types of people each of us are, and to be honest shift between on different issues and throughout life.

There is The Wise who easily takes Biblical instruction to heart and acts accordingly. They are committed to Godly wisdom, they build their life around Gods standard allowing Him alone to be their foundation.

Next there is the Fool who disregards Godly instruction. They continue joyfully in their path toward disaster. They resists all Godly wisdom as people plead with them. They typically want nothing to do with God, not because they do not believe, but because they just don’t want to be bothered by it they prefers to live life for themselves. They often get angry when people bring up their rebellion against God; they would rather disregard the consequences of the actions

Finally we have the Simple. These people are neither firmly committed to wisdom nor foolishness. They are easily misled because they really don’t understand what is at stake. They lack discipline to stay on the right path. They typically sway back and forth between God and the world most likely because they simply haven’t figured life out and are confused about a great many issues.

Now each of us can be any of these at any time and may even shift as different issues arise. Our target should always be wisdom, Godly wisdom. If the world conflicts with God; the worldly wisdom should be disregarded so we do not become the “Fool”

1 Corinthians 1:18-21 (ESV)
“For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.” Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.”
